When thinking of things to do that will amuse and most importantly keep the little ones busy throughout the half term break we need to consider things that will not just stimulate them but also tire the little ones so we adults can have an enjoyable peaceful evening knowing that our little treasures are well and truly happy and shattered!

Holidays abroad are becoming somewhat of a distant memory, something we used to do when enjoying the great financial freedom and frivolous over indulgent economic atmosphere.

Lake District attractions are hugely available in this Cumbrian county. From cycling - The Lake District was made for cycling, with challenging off road mountain biking routes to gentle country lanes there is something for everybody

In modern usage, a cottage is usually a modest, often cosy dwelling, typically in a rural or semi-rural location. Canadian cottages are generally located next to lakes, rivers, or the ocean in forested areas. They are used as a place to spend holidays with friends and family; common activities including swimming, canoeing, waterskiing, fishing, hiking, and sailing. There are also many well-known summer colonies.

Cottage living is one of the most popular tourist draws in Ontario, Canada, parts of which have come to be known as cottage country.
The lake contains 18 islands. By far the largest is the privately owned Belle Isle (16.18 hectares (40.0 acres)) lying opposite Bowness and around a kilometre in length.

The other islands are considerably smaller. The island of Lady Holme is named after the church that formerly stood there. The remaining islands are Bee Holme, Blake Holme, Crow Holme, Fir Holme, Grass Holme, Lilies of the Valley (East, and West), Ling Holme, Hawes Holme, Hen Holme, Maiden Holme (the smallest island, containing a singular tree), Ramp Holme, Rough Holme, Snake Holme, Thompson Holme (2nd largest), Silver Holme.
