The first person to go over the Niagara Falls in a barrel and survive was a 63 year old female schoolteacher. Fortunately, today there are a lot of ways to experience the Falls that don't include a barrel. You can experience the Falls close up, from above, from behind or from the water. Niagara Falls has many tourist areas like Clifton Hill, Victoria-Center, Fallsview and Lundy's Lane.
