Situated way inland and in between the major cities of Melbourne and Sydney, it is not surprising that the township of Bright Victoria does not get mention in many top 10 tourist lists in Australia. It certainly is a shame, however, since this fabulous location has so much to offer. With activities aplenty sure to please adventure and luxury seekers alike Bright Victoria is one long to-do list for any visitor.

Who doesn't love a quiet afternoon sitting on the banks of your favorite river, rod in hand with an esky and a few brews. This is part of the Australian lifestyle, and personally, fishing in bright is what does it for me. With two popular rivers flowing through the area, there is always a chance to walk home with a proud catch to boot. Lets not forget the lakes as well, where a combination of bait fishers, and fly fishermen can be found all year round all after than elusive big catch.

If you haven't had the chance to go hiking in Bright and its surrounding National Parks, it truly is an unforgettable experience for young and old. Don't let the term "hiking" convince you that you may not be able to do this though, there are many trails that are suited to people of all fitness levels. Set below the Victorian high country, at the foot of Mt Hotham is Bright Victoria, the gateway to the Victorian High Country.

Surrounded by beautiful bush land and some of the most stunning, highest peaks in Victoria, camping in Bright is - in my opinion - the most fun way to see everything that Bright has to offer. I've seen and stayed in a lot of places at Bright and nothing beats roughing it, sleeping under the stars and getting away from the busy city life and reconnecting with nature itself.

Bright Victoria is located approximately 3.5 hours north east of Melbourne in Australia, and is a popular destination for those who are looking to escape their daily routine each weekend. Being one of the only places in Australia that is not affected by the different seasons, there is something to do in every single month of the year, whether it involves scaling alpine peaks, throwing back one of the local brews, or snowboarding on the slopes of Mt Hotham.
