For those parents who are able to get some time off work might consider taking the family on a short break. In the past, half term was the cue for many people to head abroad but due to financial constraints that may not be possible.

However, a family break is still possible as there is plenty to do right here in the UK. Admittedly the weather may not be on par with the south of France or Spain but what UK destinations lack in weather, they more than make up for in fun and activities.

One of the most common problems is food poisoning, something that has been hot on the news recently. Each country has its own laws but if you book a tour package that involves a UK travel agency sending you to a hotel with sub-standard levels of quality then you should be entitled to compensation. When you travel to any country you need to be aware of the hygiene in the restaurants as you do here in the UK.

The weather in the UK is miserable and as it does not look like it is going to let up. As such many people will fancy a winter break and who can blame them? There are some great deals if you fancy getting away this winter thanks to the amount of low cost airlines that offer packages to places like Majorca. The Balearic Islands, where Majorca is situated generally has good weather all year round and as such the beach, sun and sangria are often too much for people to resist.

Cruises offer so much more than your average holiday mainly due to the various destinations you can see and experience in one trip. Some people like visiting one place and kicking back and relaxing for one or two weeks, this is a perfectly good holiday if that is what you like doing but some people prefer to do more with their break.

Those who fancy a more interesting holiday than simply visiting one place should consider a cruise. They are great fun and are worth looking into as they offer a different holiday experience than the usual on offer from travel companies.

Iberia is a good area to visit as there are some good deals on package deals there and it does not take a long time getting there.

Despite being a secular state, Turkey is 99% Muslim although visiting the country will mean you can still see many shops and outlets that you can in Western Europe. This is a problem for some of the Turkish people who feel their routes lie with the Muslims who would dress very differently to those of the Western world.
