2008 and 2009 have been years most investors would like to forget. For most of us, it's been a stress filled time, with one horrible news story following another. All of this just means you need a vacation more then ever - and good news about the bad news is that the financial crisis has made destinations in Latin America, even more affordable then they already were before the crisis.

Traveling alone isn't always fun. There are ways to make the whole experience more enjoyable by making friends before you get and along the way... These are some of the tactics I use to make every solo expedition a fun one.

STEP 1: Make some female friends online. This is a must do, especially for those shy guys out there. If you don't think you'll be able to approach women on the streets or in clubs when you travel, you have to do the dirty work on the Internet before you get there.

There are many reasons why I considered Latin America a paradise on Earth for men. The reasons are several, but let me show you why any guy can find a good looking, down to Earth, quality girl in any Latin American country----regardless of how you look, your social status, personality, or social skills.

First of all, the ratios of women to men favor men in Latin America; There are many facts and statistics that back up this claim, but one simple way to prove this is true is to simply take a trip and look around.

Brazil seems to a be a country shrouded in mystery for most modern westerners. It's located right smack in the middle of Latin America yet they don't speak Spanish in Brazil. Who would have though? This article covers some fun facts about Brazil, Brazilian Culture and those famous Brazilian women who are famous the world over.

#1. In Brazil they speak Portuguese, not Brazilian or Spanish.

It's no secret the United States has experienced the worst recession since the great depression, but the real question is: Is the government perusing the right policies that will lead to an eventual recovery? Why is this important for all American men? Because one of the possible and likely outcomes of the current spend and bailout policy is that it will lead to very high inflation in the dollar, and possibly hyper inflation as a worse case scenario.

A cell phone will be your key communication tool when your traveling abroad. I've had a few trips where I didn't have a cell phone, and although I was able to manage, cell phones really make life a lot easier. From calling a cab, to keeping in touch with foreign women, when your traveling abroad, it's going to be very important to have a cell phone that works locally, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

What's all the fuss about cuba? What's this tiny little island just a few hundred miles of the coast of Florida famous for? You might be surprise... The cigars, the rum, the women, the dancing, not to mention the baseball. Ohh, and don't forget about Castro.

Loy Krathong, or sometimes spelled Loi Krathong, is a Thai festival that has been celebrated nationwide since the Sukhothai period. Although there are a number of disputes as to where and when the festival started exactly, the most widely accepted information is that after King Ramkhanghaeng's consort, Nang Noppammas, made a tiny boat made of banana leaves and shaped like a lotus flower, and which they later floated into the river, the King released a Royal decree that the practice be celerated annually from then on.

Latin America holds many of the worlds wonders, like Machi Pichu and the Galapagos islands. It's fortunate location at the center of the Ecuator makes it an ideal climate in most Latin American countries. Latin America is also known for it's friendly people, good food, and famous festivals.

Couple of years back when I worked in cubicle, I found out one of my co-workers had been to Brazil. At this time I had already been to Brazil, so I was eager to talk with him to see how much he liked it. I had no clue that he not only didn't like it. He hated it. But before I approached him about it, I thought it would be impossible for a guy to hate Brazil.
