The climatic zones in mountains present a huge challenge to hikers. At high altitudes, the temperature falls and precipitation is likely.

Planning and research is necessary if you are going for a hiking trip that will last a few days. If you backpack around the world you might want to consider a travel backpack that's also suitable for backpacking. External frame backpacks are too bulky to fit the luggage compartment.
