The council of Peniche is known by its beautiful coast, which provides moments of beauty with the practice of the surf and body-board. Many national and international names of those modalities come to Peniche every year.

For that reason, Peniche is known internationally by the exceptional conditions for the practice of nautical sports. The presence of the sea makes Peniche being called as the capital of the wave.

The Lisbon Coast line (Costa de Lisboa) is often referred as the Portuguese Riviera and includes some of the chicest seaside resorts in Portugal.

This is a cosmopolitan area with a long tradition of warm hospitality. Since the 1920s, it has been a favoured haunt of Europes aristocracy and royal families (many of the exiled or deposed have made this their home) and in the 21st century, it is now a hot spot for major international personalities from the world of fashion, sport and entertainment.

Vilamoura is the name given to an area rather than to any actual town. It is outstanding in that it is one of the largest single tourist complex in Europe and covers some 2.000 hectares of land.

The land is variable in its vegetation, some parts covered in pine forests whilst others open recovered marshland. The company that owns this complex is extremely environmentally conscious and has made every effort is being made to protect nature within its continued planned development.

Nazare is possibly the most famous fishing town in Portugal, it is unique in many ways.

Nazare doesnt contain the architectural treasures or grandiose monuments prevalent in other Portuguese towns, but it has an atmosphere of times gone by, contentment and traditions which continue to thrive, which make it a special place to visit.

The wooden fishing boats still used today are colourful and narrow with curved prows and decoration evocative of the first fishermen of the area; the Phoenicians, who settled here in pre-Christian times and on some prows you will even still see a watchful eye painted in theory to detect the two most important things to a fisherman; shoals and storms and many dangle lamps for fishing after sunset.

Starting by the surrounding areas of Tavira, the freguesia of Cabanas de Tavira continues to dedicate up to today to the fishing, contributing to the enrichment of the local gastronomy, with products as the tuna, lingueirao, the conquilhas and ameijoas. Strongly linked to the fishing art, the freguesia has an area of 3.480 hectares and a population of 1.

Lagos located in the Algarve of Portugal, is a council of the district of Faro with thousands years of history, its importance increased during the period of the great portuguese maritime shippings of the century XV.

The Infant Dom Henrique, known as Infant of Sagres or the Navigator who lived in Lagos, commanded a lot of expeditions to conquests some cities in Morocco and to discovery the African coast, because it has a rich past in history.

Faro is one of the main councils of Algarve, within the capital of the district of Faro is located the only international airport of Algarve and the second largest of the country that links Portugal to several european countries, making possible the entrance in Algarve of thousands of tourists a year.

Faro is also the capital of the sun, it is in the coast of Faro that most of the visitors pass the summer time, taking advantage from the beautiful landscapes of the city.

The beach of Quarteira is one of the main attractive places of the freguesias of Loule. Located within the city of Quarteira, this beach is the favourite of thousands of tourists that visit the Algarve during the summer, the spring the autumn and the winter.

With two kilometres and an extensive sand dune, the beach of Quarteira started to be a popular destiny of vacations starting from the sixties, also because of its excellent climate, warm in the summer and temperate in the winter time.

The history of Cabanas (Huts in english) begins in 1734, when the tuna fishing was considered one of the main activities, originating the creation of the first indispensable huts in the place to store the fishing equipments and to the enlarge the company.
For more than 20 years we just heard about the huts as seasonal residence, however, only about 1757 some fishermen opted to build their houses permanently.
