Food is everything in Italy, it's what brings the family together to sit a round a table after a long day working or at the beach. Meal times are where extended families will sit for hours discussing life, family matters, Italian politics (always popular) and the world as a whole.
Whenever I go to Italy I love sitting down with my immediate family to eat, the whole process is different to what we do at home in England.

Italian architecture is timeless, the soft colours and pleasing structures to very little to offend and always leave an impression on you.
Modena is a city situated in the mid north west of the Italian peninsula and is most famous for being the home town of the Ferrari but it's also right in the middle of the Italian food corridor which runs from Bologna, the father of Italian food to Parma, the home of ham and down to Modena.

Learning a language is fun, so they say. It broadens your horizons and can engulf you in a totally new environment that previously may have passed you by.
Reading books and listening to CD's is a very long drawn out learning process and even the most studious of people can find it hard going. Going to college to learn Italian is another option.

Italy is a magical country to visit and spend time; every region has something new to offer whether it is its food, the people, the history or its architecture.
To many people the architecture of a country is it's main attraction and this could easily be said about Italy with it's millennia old stones, sumptuous remains of mysterious Etruscan kings, witnesses to ancient pagan rites, memorials to a history whose origins is lost in the mists of time.

Looking For A Different Holiday Destination This Year? Why Not Choose Sardinia.....

Sardinia is an island nestled between Africa to the south, Corsica to the north, Italy to the east and Spain to the west. The east coast shores of Sardinia are lapped by the Tyrrhenian Sea and the west coast by the Mediterranean ocean. Why would you chose to go on holiday to Sardinia instead of mainland Italy or indeed any of the more popular Mediterranean destinations?
Sardinia is pretty easy to get for a holiday with airports in Cagliari (the capital), Olbia and Alghero, Alghero being one of the most popular holiday destinations on the island as well as being one of the most beautiful towns on the island.

The world is getting smaller by the year. Nowhere is out of reach nowadays. Every one loves telling holiday stories to friends and family about food they've eaten and what they've seen whilst exploring the far reaches of the planet.
But to many of us it isn't enough to just go on holiday and experience lovely food and sights, we want to be able to take the food home with us and share it with our families and friends.

Why You Should Visit The Beautiful Town Of Alghero, Sardinia

Sardinia is a jewel of the Mediterranean ocean.
It's the second largest island of the Med, only Sicily is larger but Sardinia has only 1.6 million inhabitants. The north west of the island is the place I know best, Alghero in particular. I've spent many holidays in this beautiful medieval walled town at differing times of the year and have never been disappointed by the town's beauty and the warmth of its inhabitants.

Archaeological finds in and around the area of Alghero suggest a degree of social organisation as early as 6000 BC although the history of the modern town really begins in the first half of the twelfth century with the fortification of what had been an obscure fishing port by the Doria family of Genoa.
The town successfully defended itself from assaults by the Pisans and Aragonese until 1353, when, after the conquest of Cagliari and Sassari, a large Spanish fleet, supported by the Venetians, routed the Genoans at the nearby bay of Porto Conte and took possession of Alghero.
