Little India or Arab Street are just two that you won't want to miss and you can visit temples, find authentic Chinese medicines, and take a look at the architecture that is characteristic of the Chinese civilization. You can even head over to the Island's black and white bungalows, which are symbols of the colonial rule that was prominent a century ago. If you would like a private tour, that will cost as much as $100 for a group.

2. People's Park Complex in Chinatown is the first high-rise shopping center of Southeast Asia and this is the place to be if you want to get a good look at the city. It will only cost about $10 if you want to indulge in foot reflexology, and afterwards you can indulge in some souvenir collecting.

3. Be sure to spend some time at the Singapore Zoo where you will find thousands of animals roaming about freestyle. If you dream of going on a safari, this may be the closest you will get to that. Animals such as kangaroos, elephants, giraffes and lions are cared for in something that is near what you would find in nature.

4. If you can stand heights, be sure to ride the Singapore Flyer on the Marina Bay that opened in March of 2008. This is considered the tallest Ferris wheel in the world standing 450 feet tall.

5. Tasting the local cuisine is the truest way of getting the full experience of being in Singapore. If you like dumplings, you will love the soup dumplings offered at Paragon Mall. Locals flock to this place for affordable authentic meals that are truly unique to Singapore. Sample everything if you like at the Hawker Center and that will range from chili crab to chicken rice to popiah spring rolls to laksa to spich Malay and coconut milk. The Esplanade Mall is where you will find the Hawker Center and it is an easy walk from the Merlion statue.
